  • Project will not open, general error message

I have nearly completed a project, saved and closed and opened it several times in the past week. I about wrapped last night and closed it. This morning it will not open, as if it isn’t even there! When I select the “open recent” drop down menu, the project name is there but nothing opens. When I select it in “movies” files all I get is a “general error” warning and an unnamed blank sequence opens in FCP. When I open the internal drive directly that it is located on and select its project icon, FCP opens and I get the same thing. I am to deliver this before Christmas and am now approaching major panic mode. I need help!! ( um, please don’t tell me I am screwed )

    Try trashing your preferences.

If need be, check your autosave vault. That has saved my life twice now due to some really dumb user error on my part. 🙂
