  • Project Settings “Linearize Working Space” borks proxies

Posted by Frank Wylie on December 2, 2008 at 1:11 am

Maybe I just don’t understand how this works, but I am attempting to construct a project using 2K, 16 bit linear TIFF files in a sequence and using AVI 1/2 resolution, uncompressed proxies for speedier results.

In the past I just used the default Windows sRGB colorspace and didn’t have any problems with proxies.

Now, however, when I attempt to work in HDTV 709 color space and turn on the Linearize working space check box in the Project settings, my proxies suddenly render out very dark!

I am returning to the default sRGB settings for now, but I’d like to know if this is normal and, if so, why?

    thanks!
