Project Settings for Premiere Pro and After Effects
Hello,
With all the settings available in Premiere Pro and After Effects, I’m a little confused what I should be using. Here’s my current setup and what I’ve been using as my settings:
-Camera is a Canon XH A1 shooting in 1080i 30 fps
-Premiere Pro capture and new project settings are HDV, 1440 x 1080 (1.333), 29.97 fps (this gives the look of widescreen video)For After Effects, when I choose the “HDV 1080 29.97” preset for a new composition, the settings are the same, but the video looks to be 4×3 not widescreen. The only way to get widescreen is to choose the “HDTV 1080 29.97” preset.
Am I missing something? I would have thought that the same settings would for Premiere Pro and After Effects would display the video the same…..
Also, what is the best workflow between these two programs? Shout I rough cut the video in PP and then bring some of the footage into AE? Or is it the other way around? I’m kind of confused.
