The source file for my project is a .MOV file that is 720×536, 1.17 GB, 1:01:43 long.

When I imported it to my Vegas 8, and I look under File/Properties/Video Tab, the size seems to be set at 720 x 480.

There is a Templates Drop-down there with different sizes, but I don’t see one for 720 x 536.

Is there a way to set this properly so the aspect and ratio look normal like the source file?

    Many thanks!

Look under “Custom” in project properties. You should also be able to right click the media file (outside of Vegas) and utilize “Open with…” and choose Vegas. Vegas should recognize the file properties.

Thanks. I tried this (see link above) and was able to get Vegas 8 to give me 720×536 on WMV, MOV and Real Medial files. But it would only give me 720×480 files for MPEG2 and AVI Video for Windows formats.

My first goal is to take my output and convert for Flash Video for the web, so I am halfway there. But I thought it would be a good idea to have the AVI or MPEG files if I need to burn a DVD version later. (I haven’t learned DVD Architect yet – I’m still using Nero for disc burning.)

Is there a way to get it to give me 720×536 for MPEG2 or AVI formats?

    Many thanks!

Thanks. I gave this a try (see video above) and was able to get Vegs 8 to give my 720×536 rendered files in the MOV, RM and WMV formats but not in MPEG2 or AVI formats.

My first goal on this project is to convert the output file to Flash FLV for the web so I am halfway there but I thought that the MPEG2 and AVI formats would be a good idea in case I need to burn to a DVD version later. (I haven’t learned Architect yet – I am still using Nero to burn discs.)

Is there a way to get Vegas 8 to render a MPEG2 or AVI file at 720×536?

    Many thanks!
