Project Panel names from file names
I am working on a project with a lot of assets that are being swapped with newer versions. However, in the project panel the assets are retaining their original file names. So, for example, I have updated “file_v01.tif’ with “file_v02.tif” but the project panel still says v01. I have this issue across hundreds of assets. Is there any way to easily fix this, and have it stay fixed?

That’s strange! The normal Ae behavior is to rename the asset when you do a footage replacement.
When you’re replacing the asset in the project panel, do you perhaps have “Import as sequence” checked in the file selection dialog box?

The files in this case are actually SWF files exported from Animate. And given how weird Animate can be, I suspect this might be part of the problem.
