Hi there fine FCP editors, I while back ago, I had an affair with a MAC, then not long after I divorced my PC and got married to the MAC. I thought I was doing everything the right way but I now have a major problem…. I burnt my FCP projects with Roxio Toast. I used the multisession to be able to back more than one project on a disk…The problem is that everything was recorded with 8 digits + 3 for the extension (the pc ms-dos getting back at me).

Now I tried to access an old project with FCP, but I get an error message saying that it is unrecognized by FCP…

I think it has to do with the first line it reads from the file

I tried renaming the file, adding the .fcp extension, nothing works…

Is there a way to fix that, or all my projects on this CD are scrapped…

    thanks all for your help.

i would assume you deleted the autosave vault for this project, if not just use the last saved version.

Of course, that would have been too easy,,, The project is almost a year old, the autosave vault is long gone!
