Project Media: sort by column A then B (Tape Name or Path, then Timecode In)
I want to sort Project Media chronologically:
Tape 1:
– clip 1
– clip 2
– clip 3
Tape 2:
– clip 1
– clip 2
– clip 3
etc etc etc.
(The tapes are numbered.)Sort by timecode is fine if you only have one tape; otherwise you get different tapes intermingled in your sort order:
Tape 2 clip 1
Tape 1 clip 1
Tape 2 clip 2
Tape 2 clip 3
Tape 1 clip 2
Tape 1 clip 3If you wanted to grab clips in chronological order, how would you do it?
“Layout Tracks Using Media Timecode” almost works as a workaround, but (perfect though it is for its true purpose) it has problems for this purpose, which I won’t go unless needed.
I tried sorting by Modified Date, but that didn’t help because (a) not all clips were created in order, and (b) dozens upon dozens of our clips were created in the same minute, because we used a script (Regions to Subclips), and media with the same modified minute is not sorted.
I can get the data into a spreadsheet and arrange it there (I did), but that doesn’t help me when I need to add clips to the timeline.
Sorry, there were no replies found.
