  • Project from PAL to NTSC, I’ve been a little stupid..

I’ve got 2 different projects, one is in PAL the other in NTSC.
The film is recorded in widescreen mode, the project size was 720×480, so I changed the motion in the NTSC project to:

    postition 460x 240
    the scale to 64
and the anchor point to 461 x 288

I’m sure this wasn’t the right way to do it, but it was the only right way to show everything without stretching the movie too much. And I like the black bars.It was the only thing I could think of, cause I’m pretty new to premiere.
Thing is, here in Holland we work with PAL, so I had to render the NTSC movie to a PAL movie.
Everything worked fine and it looks good on TV.
Now I had to make another movie from the same tape, so it was widescreen recorded, I thought I wont make the same mistake again, and opend a PAL project right ahead.
But now I have to mix the two movies together.
The thing is,the motion options aren’t the same.
Because one project is 720×480(NTSC) and the other is 720×576(PAL), I just can’t set the PAL motion at postition 460x 240
    the scale to 64
and the anchor point to 461 x 288, because than the black bars of the movies aren’t the same size!!

Can I change the PAL project to a NTSC?And I don’t mean rendering it to an NTSC movie.
Is there anything else I can do?
Does someone knows how I’ll get the black bars the same size, without stretching/losing image?

I hope someone can help me out.
    thanks

    grtz.

btw, all movies are captured in PALformat……..and I didn’t use the widescreen mode for the project cause it looked terrible on tv.
