Project file is extremely bloated
17Gb! For the past month or so my auto-saves have been taking a very long time to complete, and now my file is so large that I cannot open it. Three of my auto-saves are 6Gb and two are 3Gb (I would think that they would be larger…). I tried opening one of the 3Gb files, but after 24 hours and it only loading 33% I gave up. I need to get into my project and start working ASAP. I am relatively new to Premiere so this was a very big shock to me.
I am currently trying to load the available sequences to import into another project from a 3Gb auto-save, but that will probably take several days (if not crash entirely).
My computer should be more than capable of handling this situation, but I think premiere is rather ill-equipped to do so.
What should I do? Continue trying to import certain sequences from the auto-save into a new project? Attempt to load the auto-save (by waiting 3+ days)? Attempt to load the master file (and wait some absurd amount of time)?
Is there a way to split the project file into smaller components outside of Premiere without damaging anything?
I am sorry for the long list of questions. I am rather desperate at the moment since I need to get to this project as soon as possible and don’t want to resort to re-editing it (yikes!).
I am looking forward to as much help as possible!
