Project dimensions to match photo
I am trying to add images to a project and have the project be 3264 x 2448, which is the pixel dimensions of the images I am using. However, when I drag the image into the project, it does not fit perfectly. There is a black border on the sides and I have to make the scale smaller in order to see the entire image. I have tried “spatial conform” at every setting. But it should work with “none” if I’m doing it right. Does anyone know how to make it so the dimensions of the photo are accurately conveyed to the dimensions of the project? Thank you!

FCP is designed to work with standard video dimensions…720×480, 960×720, 1280×720, 1280×1080, 1440×1080, 1920×1080, 2K….4K to a limited degree. Anything outside those dimensions and FCP will not behave normally. Why do you want the dimensions to match the picture dimensions? How are you planning on exporting this for viewing? DVDs are SD…720×480. BluRay is HD…1280×720 or 1920×1080. Even YouTube and Vimeo like standard TV dimensions…

Also, FCP7 has an upper limit on how large stills can be before it starts to choke.
