hi, first let me say i was trying to find a solution (searching google) to my problem and failed to do so. i also tried both methods described in this tutorial and that didn’t help either – https://vimeo.com/24640614
i stumbled upon this forum and i thought maybe someone here can help, and now for my PROBLEM:

i have a project on vegas pro 10 which is basically a slideshow of still JPG images at 4:3 and with two short AVCHD lite 720 clips in between the images. all of the material (images and video) was taken with a simple panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS3 (or DMC-TZ7) camera.
there are no effects or transitions, just simple cuts and a music track.

PROBLEM – no matter what i do (change project settings, change rendering settings, frame rates, etc..) the still images look horrible on youtube, even when in 720 HD.
i want the images to remain in 4:3 and not zoom them into the 720 aspect ratio, just that they will take up the maximum height of the HD resolution and leave the sides blank.
on my computer the clip turns out fine and smooth but youtube just destroys it and i thought it’s supposed to be rather simple for still images to look smooth on youtube.
here is my latest attempt (the 10th maybe) to upload to youtube – notice the chairs at 00:23 look really horrible and square…

Looks good to me. You often have to give YouTube a little while before your video will play as expected.

Looks great to me. As Mike pointed out, YouTube generates several resolutions and it doesn’t always do the best one first so you have to give a little time to catch up. It looks fine as it is.

well i guess this is as good as it gets within youtube limitations… thought it could be a bit smoother
