  • project and clip settings – only critical for offline editing?

Are all the settings for master clips like format, color space, frame size, resolution, aspect ratio, audio sample rate, bit depth, etc. only critical for online editing? Or do some of them have to be consistent for offline editing too?

Having that information defined for your production master allows for better tracking of source elements, mix and match, aspect ratio correction, color space conversion, etc. Even in offline, ensuring the timecodes and such is important if going to an online – especially if on a different system.

Talk to your online editor and make sure you are both on the same page
