Ok, I know what progressive scan is. Meaning the image is scan in one line per frame (top to bottom) of video instead of to fields per one frame. Like a computer monitor verse a TV CRT. But what is it in Editing? Meaning is there really only one field or is it two fields synced?
If footage is shot on a DVX100a progressive and transferred into FCP via sony dvcam deck with analog component out to a BMD or AJA card as an upper field 10 bit does it lose it’s progressive scaniness? if that is the case then What is the wright way to digitize the footage to retain the Progressive nature? Firewire? SDI? OYE. Thanks in advance for your help.

Get yourself a nice snack and free up an hour of your afternoon.

Then work your way through this:

Come on back if you have any questions beyond that, but I’m guessing it will take care of most of them!
