I’m aware that while MPEG2 files are usually interleaved they can also be outputted as progressive scan ad well. I’d like to know if a progressive scan MPEG2 file is used in DVDA will it remain as progressive scan if it’s used or re rendered in DVDA?

Again DVDA allows for you to import AVI files into it’s projects. I have noticed that Vegas appears to allow for AVI files to also be created as progressive scan. If a progressive scan was used in DVDA would DVDA render out any MPEG2 files that it creates as progressive or interlaced?

I know that there are a few utilities available on the net that can tell you what codec was used to create your files. Will any of these utilities tell you it the file your questioning was created as interleaved or progressive scans?

    Thanks in advance

If you go to File – Optimize, you can set DVD Architect to create a progressive DVD.

I’m only using version 3 of DVDA & I can’t see that option listed. A lot of what’s listed under ‘Optomise’ doesn’t appear to allow you to alter the settings displayed. Things like recompress. I bring this up because I have had on several occasion had DVDA recompress files that didn’t need to be recompressed.

    Thanks in advance
