I just want to get the details correct here:

I have a Pro Res 422 HQ master that was shot natively in 25p. But it is delivered to me as 25p interlaced.

If I’m not mistaken, this is also known as a 2:2 pulldown because it’s displaying 2 interlaced fields. If I take this and edit it in FCP X, will it know how to merge the 2 interlaced fields and treat it as a progressive OR I have to tell FCP X to treat this as a progressive scan format (similar to other PsF originated footage).

Is it better to tell the provider to remaster it as 25 progressive so that I don’t have to worry about any footage interpretation?
