  • Progressive and Interlaced video in one project

I have both a Sony HDR AX 2000 camera and a Sony HDR XR500 camera. One records using progressive while the other uses only the interlaced format. Also the AX 2000 can shoot in 24or 30P, while the HDR XR500 can only shoot in 30i. Is it possible to combine the videos from both cameras into one project, using Vegas Pro 9? If so, what project settings would I use to render the project? If not, is there any other way to do it? Thanks.

Yes, just drop them onto the timeline and let Vegas handle it. It will do the right thing.

Project settings do not affect the render but in your case it would be good to make your project settings “match” your render settings. So decide if you plan to render progressive or interlaced and set your project up the same way.
