  • Program playback to SDI?

Posted by Dirk Dejonghe on March 1, 2012 at 3:08 pm

I have a MacPro with CS5.5 and Blackmagic Decklink installed. Capture from tape is OK. I hooked up a PAL SDI monitor to the SDI output on the Blackmagic card. Audio is in/out via Blackmagic too.

When I play a clip in the source monitor, I get picture and sound out of the Blackmagic on the monitor. If I try to play a sequence in the program monitor, I get audio but no picture on the external monitor. How come? I need to check the de-interlacing on an external monitor to adjust the settings.

How do I get the program on my monitor?

    Thanks,

    Dirk

It is standard PAL 4/3 interlaced. The clips play fine on the external monitor if played from the source monitor in PPRo, plays fine in the program monitor in PPro but no picture only sound on external monitor; I need to tweak some picture factors that can only be judged on the external interlaced monitor. Blackmagic Decklink Extreme 3D with SDI output, capture was via YC analog input, audio via XLR analog.

Problem solved: after rebooting no more problems.
