  • Program monitor plays back in square pixels instead of 16;9

I’m working on a rather large project shot in DV/16/9 29.97 Progressive.

Up till recently, everything worked great but now I’ve stared applying video effects and once I’ve applied an effect and render the timeline, the program monitor stops playing back in 16/9 and starts playing back in square pixels.

I also use a canopus advc-100 for playback on video monitors and instead of seeing a full screen anamorphic image, there are bars on the right and left hand side of the screen and the playback is super-anamorphic.

This only happens once I render the timeline and when I export the project, it is exported as a 16;9 like is supposed to be.

Here is a small list of things I’ve done and made the problem happen: Reversing a clip to -100 and rendering, Adding a title over video, Exporting a still of a shot and applying it to the timeline, Importing video that I have manipulated in After Effects (exported as 16;9 and when I interpret the footage in Premiere it shows 16;9), actually pretty much anything I change and render in the timeline causes the problem.

When I go through my preferences and project settings, the options for rendering are greyed out and I can’t change them.

Any suggestions as to what is causing this?

Oh, I’ve tried uninstalling Premiere and removing my user settings and deleting the premiere files on my C drive and reinstalling. I get the same thing.

I’ve opened other projects from the past and they play back in the program monitor as 16/9 until I make a change in the timeline, then any clip I have changed starts playing back in 4/3 again.

I can open the clip from the timeline into the source monitor and it is 16;9 as it should be.

    Thanks again,

    MIKE
