Are there tips on how to make a video professional looking? I’m interested in what kind of graphics to use to make videos look professional. Is it up to the compositor or are there general rules?

    Hey Jeanie,

Wow. You just asked the million dollar question and honestly, I’m not sure of the right answer. Your using after effects instead of livetype so your already a step ahead of game. This may just be a personal thing but I hate seeing a commercial where they used livetype graphics because it looks so cheesy.

My hint is: Always have motion blur turned on. This seems to give the movement of the graphic a more natural feel. Also, I’ve seen a lot of commercial where the graphics are “professional” but they’re so flashy you lose the message of the commercial.

A good graphic to me does one thing: It sends a message. You can use a cool graphic to grab peoples attention, but then you have to stick with the message of the advertisement.

In all honesty, different people have different opinions when it comes to this type of question, but I’m up for hearing what everybody has to say. I hope a lot of people respond to this cause it would make for an interesting forum.
