  Productions workflow – drawbacks?

  I have an extraordinarily large project that multiple editors are working on, with ~500 films that we need to pull selects from.

  I want to separate these into five projects of say, 100 films each, and create stringout sequences from them (all kept in one project).

  If the the main edit sequence were to then built using clips from these sequences, would they experience too much of a slowdown for this to be feasible?

  I know exporting SLX reels first would make more sense, but we need to be cutting as SLX are being made, and this would make the process a lot simpler.
