[Michael Sacci] “Graphic card has nothing to do with this so you don’t need to think of that, for this problem at least.”

    where is that discussed?

I asked about how the quality of the graphics looked from the timeline which is ABSOLUTELY relevant to the question at hand.

Brian broadcast monitors cost very little these days for good used ones.

I’m sure you could find a good 14″ sony crt with component and composite ins for around $ 500 or less.

I purchased a barely used Sony 14″ HD/SD CRT for $ 1,500 just 3 months ago. For an accurate HD CRT that is DIRT cheap!

Just want to thank everyone who has responded to my original post. I’ve really got some good stuff here to move forward with – better lighting – I’ll read that book that Michael recommends, a broadcast monitor connected to the camera on the shoot and of course back in the edit suite. These things will help immediately. Then perhaps a short course in lighting techniques. Short courses and forums like this are really assisting my need to progress. Hats off to you all.

I was speaking to Brian wondering if he should upgrade his graphic CARD in his original post and not a comment about you asking how graphics look. The X1900 will not make a difference in video quality it just helps in render time and playback in some apps. My entire line of thinking is improve technic before spending money to upgrade if he is going to spend money as stated it should be on a production broadcast monitor, even a sony 13″ retail TV is better than going with just a camera.
