What’s up guyz, I am here again with some of my silly questions…well whateva!

I am thinking of having a full-blown production suite and the target/purpose is for post production (i.e

editing, color correction, 3D animation, eisual effect and rendering). Now my probelm is where to start or to

put in a better way…I dont have a total understanding on what is means to set-up a production pipleine. But I

guess the following are very important:

    a. Back-Up System

    b. Render Farm

    c. Editing System (eiditing programme, color correction/grading system, visual efx system, render

    server/system)…

What bothers me the most is how can all these system come under a network and making them work effectively for

    everybody….I’m really confused.

Another thing that bothers me, can everybody we working at thesame time in post production because after

recording, the footage first get’s to the video editor who cuts and stiches the shots together into one piece

then grading comes in and others or am I wrong…

Will be glad to read from you guyz soon…

    Regards,
    ‘kk’

This would all depend on the size of the set-up you are planning on having, it would also depend on the type of footage you are going to be using SD/HD..

More info is definatly necessary to better help you.

Also when you say backup, that also depends on a number of things and choices as to what is backed up…..EX: backing up media when the media resides on tape, backing up renders when they can be easily re-built.

Render farms……They are not always needed, bit of course it depends on the nature of your work. A fast machine rendering overnight can be a better investement.
