    So I don’t think I’m following the line-up change here…

Is Producer simply a new name for M100sw?

    I just upgraded to 11.0 (M100HD)… I didn’t see a 11.5 download logged into the m100 download site… Is that a pay upgrade too?

    Perfect timing.

We are about to officially announce Media 100 11.5, Media 100 Producer and Media 100 Producer Suite. So, I’ll clear up any questions you may have.

First off, Media 100 Producer and Media 100 11.5 are technically the same, except for one thing. Media 100 11.5 is for the AJA hardware based systems. Media 100 Producer uses the FireWire port on the Mac for I/O.

Media 100 sw is now called Media 100 Producer. There are new features that have been added to make Media 100 sw into Media 100 Producer, most notably FireWire I/O and P2 Import. Media 100 Producer Suite is bundled with Red version 4. Media 100 Producer costs $795 and Producer Suite costs $1295. Both are available now on the BorisFX store (www.borisfx.com).

If you purchased Media 100 sw, BorisFX-Media 100 is offering a discounted upgrade to Producer for $249. You can also upgrade from sw to Producer Suite for $749. This is a limited time offer until November 30th. If you wanted to upgrade you should do this soon.

Media 100 11.5 is an upgrade to Media 100 11.0. If you purchased Platinum Software Updates or received platinum as part of your Media 100 11.0 AJA OEM purchases you should receive your upgrade via mail by October 30th.

Additionally I think Media 100 V11.5 is for the HDx hardware systems also, not only for the Aja-based systems. So if you have an “older” HD system you can run V11.5, too.

Thanks Floh, of course, Media 100 HD is included. One more thing, you won’t find the 11.5 available for download until after the platinum backship. You will need a new encryption code to run 11.5.

So when you say that 11.5 is an upgrade from 11.0… Is there a cost for this upgrade?

And is there a solid release date for 11.5? I’m between projects so now’s a good time to do an upgrade.

    Hi,

The cost is $695 for one year of software updates. 11.5 is technically “released”, the CD’s are being printed as I write this and will be available shortly. If you place an order it would take only a few days to get it to you.

[Michael C.] “So when you say that 11.5 is an upgrade from 11.0… Is there a cost for this upgrade?”

If you bought V11 (and also if you bought a new Aja-based system) I think you most likely also bought 1 year of software updates as part of the package. At the release time of V11 there was this promo (“Media 100 Platinum Software Updates. Media 100 Platinum Software Updates is now available. The cost of an annual Platinum Software Updates contract is $695 USD. Platinum Software Updates subscribers receive all Media 100 software upgrades for one year. In addition, Media 100 HD customers who purchase Platinum Software Updates will receive a free copy of Boris RED ($995 USD value).”). So if you bought V11 as part of the platinum software update package you should get V11.5 (including the new encryption code) for free.
