I installed Producer successfully but the DVCPro100 codec is grayed out. Has it been installed but Producer knows that my machine is not fast enough to play this data rate? Or am I missing a codec that needs to be installed? I am testing this on a G4 laptop 1.67.

Media 100 only installs their own codecs, but it can use some other codecs if you have them installed. Some are installed on every system by QuickTime, others you have to install separately.

So where does one get the DVC ProHD codec?

You can get it from Final Cut if you have a copy. I think it comes down to a licensing issue.
