Quick question for the hardware savvy:

I am watching PPro CS3 render a small section of a sequence, using CachemanXP.

My system is an Intel Pentium D 3.0, 4 gb ram(3gb switch enabled) media is on an internal SATA Raid 0.

While rendering a Cineform Aspect HD Project at 1080 . . . core 1 of the processor remains at about 30% or less usage, while #2 is running 90-100% consistently.

The question is: why are both not being used at or near capacity? Is there a way that I can force them to . . . or will that make the system unstable?
    Thanks!

    Interestingly . . . Vegas takes full advantage of both processors . . .

Maybe it’s an issue with Cineform? I will post back as I am going to test a PPro Project without the use of Cineform.

Confirmed . . . in a non-Cineform project, both cores function at or near capacity.
