    Greetings,

This is a great forum and I appreciate the willingness of others to share their knowledge.

I’m a new owner of the HPX-500. I bought it for a long-term project-the P2 acquisition fits the the style and needs of the production. We are currently using the clients MacBook Pro (dual adapter) to transfer files to an external drive. Our “P2 Tech” checks the clips before formating the card. The MacBook plays back the video quite nicely. As an owner operator I realize the need to invest in a laptop for other clients/projects. Though I’m a Mac person (apparently not die hard) I’m looking to a PC laptop for a better value. I have read on Panasonic’s site they recommend a 3.2 GHz or faster processor (1 GB RAM) to playback HD clips. Is this true or can a lesser processor work. What are others using out there with success.

    Many Thanks,

    Kyle

The 3.2GHz recommendation was based on the older single-core technology. I use a 2.00GHz Core 2 Duo laptop and P2 Viewer plays 1080 footage at full-screen, full frame rate.
