    Two questions:

    1) Does anyone of any way to increase processing speed in Sorenson Squeeze 6?

I am exporting a QT movie from Avid MC, set as DNxHD 1080i/59.94, and from my preliminary tests it will take around one hour per minute to process my 26.35 minute long film. It looks like a long wait!

So any hints on how to improve on that will be welcome.

    2) Due to my Avid MC timeline being long-gop, I can’t export as QT reference. To do that I would have to mixdown video & audio. The problem is that then I end with two separate files, a mov and a wav, that I don’t know how to input into Sorenson to be merged as a single H264 HD file. Does anyone know if that is possible?

When ya export a reference file, you just need to grab the video QT file to import into squeeze. It’ll bring audio with it with no worries. You can then start encoding, minimize and rock on in Avid, depending on ram, ect.

You’re probably talking of a “normal” QT reference export, directly from the timeline. But my timeline was 1440×1080 long gop, because most of my video came from HDV.

So Avid only lets you export that as QT movie. To export it as QT ref you have to mixdown onto two separate tracks: video and audio.

I tried that: converted the video with Sorenson and the wav track onto AC3. Then merged them both as MKV. But the MKV was not recognized as such by my LG BluRay player, that plays my MKVs.
