Regarding the HVX200, the process for downconverting footage to DV25 is? Is it possible to downconvert P2 30i footage to a external DV25 FW tape deck such as the Sony HVR-M15U HDV/DV? I’m assuming there is no tape drive on the HVX200 camera.

I have two clients who acquire in DV25/DV50 only. I’m trying to determine if purchasing this camera will provide a simple-clean workflow for DV25/50 footage into FCS 5.1.x. I see the added benefit in recording in HD, if and when theose clients determine to shoot in Hi-Def

The camera shoots mini dv to tape also, it’s just most people buy it for HD but you can even convert from P2 to the dv tape right in the camera. It only records dv25 to tape, all other formats record to P2 or external capture solutions. You can download the manual at panasonic’s web site.
