August 14, 2013 at 6:33 pmHave you made a selection in which to use the effect in your audio track?

August 15, 2013 at 2:03 pmit did not…while in multitrack view but I found if I double clicked my selection to view only my in to out point of the waveform or go to waveform view my favorites and “process” selections were no longer greyed out.

August 16, 2013 at 12:35 amYou’re right Heather – in Multitrack mode, effects work a bit differently than on a single track, but here’s a good discussion of how they work:

August 16, 2013 at 1:08 pmcan you explain using destructive effects in AU cs6? Should I make a duplicate folder of my original clips or source files and have a second folder to which I can apply effects without risk of harming the original file? Also after I quit AU (used it for the first time yesterday) and it asked me to save all these new title_aligned.wav files that I hadn’t aligned…at least not on purpose and asked me to make a duplicate of certain files that had destructive affects on them because they would be applied now.

August 16, 2013 at 1:44 pmThe best practice you can use is to do a Save As for your “clean” version, and save that as a separate file. Don’t do any effects on that one, and then you can always come back to it. Here’s a good discussion:
