    Hey guys,

I was wondering if someone could help me out here. I have an image of a wedding ring against a white background. I got rid of the background by turning it transparent in Photoshop. I tried many different formats that support layers but Premiere always says that the file format is not supported (which confuses me because even a .PSD will not import considering it an Adobe format).

Anyways, what I’m trying to achieve is I have a background matte of green leaves. I want to place the picture of wedding ring (with the transparents background) on top of the matte with the green leaves so I can see the green leaves through the ring where the finger goes.

Is there any solution to this?

PSD files should do the trick.

Does Premiere even bring up the “footage” option on import. I would merge the layers prior if all you need is the Ring.

You can also export as Png instead of PSD. The alpha channel is supported by Premiere. Or you can send me a copy of the PSD to look at: vince (at) kaptis.com

Make sure that the file is RGB. If it is CYMK then PPro will not import it and you get a ‘not supported’ error.

Thanks, saving it with an RGB profile worked!
