Problems with sound on CS3
Hi All,
Anyone else experiencing buggy performance of audio previews in AE CS3? I’m finding the trusty ol’ period key on the numeric keypad alot less trusty since switching to CS3. I get a cryptic error message that says something to the effect of: “MonitorMixerFailure failed with message: AsioHost” and then it goes on past the borders of the dialog box.
It seems to happen when I have firewire preview enabled, but sometimes also fails to preview audio after I turn FW off. I’m using an Nvidia 7600GT, latest WHQL drivers, Win XP Pro, and WAV audio. Really, nothing fancy going on.
Anyone else seen this?

I’m running 6.5, but I’ve also suddenly lost my trusty old Audio Previews. Good ol “.” doesn’t playback audio any more (though the audio levels bounce). Maybe this is something other than a AE issue (or maybe it’s just a coincidence). In either case, a complete re-install did nothing for me.
