I’m trying to make a creditlist (scrolling) upwards at the end of a show. The text is scrolling fine, but I get problems with the outcome – it looks like it’s “jumping” and it becomes very flickering. I don’t know how to explain in detail in english, but I’m sure all of you who know this problem about text in motion would know what I mean. Anyone know what to do to make this work?

What I do to make it a little better as it is is to change the font to suitable, not too thin, fonts and I put on some blur (0.3 of guasian) – it gets a little better, but not much.

I export as QuickTime Anination (Apple Animation) – because I need the Alpha channel and I import it into a DV-PAL FCP-project.

I’ve also tried to export uncompressed and BlackMagic 8-bit to make a Preview from DeckLink Controller – same problem.

    (HELP!)

Make sure you scroll in even multiples of the target playback framerate, e.g. for PAl, which is 25 fps, use 100 pixels per second and so on.

I would recommend using field render in your render settings dialog. That in combination with your blur should help the problem alot. If you’re using a BMD Decklink, lower field first is the way to go, as with DV also.
