Hello there ! (or should that be moooo ? :=)

I’m on AE CS5.5 and AI CS5. AI is setup for AICB and preserve paths on the clipboard preferences.

The problem I am having, is that when I copy/paste a path from AI into AE (into Null Object Position), the path AE creates seems to have a vertical orientation, even though my AI is horizontal (my path is not complex, just a sort of squashed/squeezed horizontal elipse).

So, to cut a long story short, I can’t figure out how to rotate the entire position path ? The rotate parameter only seems to rotate the Null Object box and not the path ?

masks and paths are only 2d and only exist in the xy plane, so when you are pasting it into the position property the movement is only x and y.

to get what you are looking for, create another 3d null and parent the one with the motion path to it. then rotate the parent null.

if you need the original null (but not it’s path) to be rotated back, use its rotation properties to counter the parents rotation.
