This is my first try at Zaxwerks Invigorator Pro 4 and things are not going good.

    I downloaded a 3D object from Google’s 3D Warehouse.
The file was in SeketchUp Pro’s native format – *.skp.
Then I used SketchUp Pro and exported the *.skp file to an *.obj file.
    So far so good.

I then started Adobe AfterEffects and, following Invigorator’s PDF manual, imported the *.obj file and attached a controller layer to it.

Problem is that the controller does not move the object in 3D space.
The controller itself moves in AE’s 3D space, but the object does not.

This is the 3D model in question – a drum kit.
I am trying to use it for my music video.

Download it, convert it ot an *.obj, then try it out in your AE using Invigorator and maybe you will be able indentify what my problem is.

That same model causes similar problems when I import it as a 3D-PSD from PhotoShop.

Maybe the model itself is faulty?

    Thanks!

    Hi Blahtor.

You may need to select the “Use Comp Camera” checkbox in the Invigorator’s parameter list.

    To do this:
    1. Open your project and select the layer with the Invigorator applied.
    2. Open the Effect Controls Window (ECW) and look for the checkbox under the preview window labeled “Use Comp Camera.” Make sure it’s checked.

If this still doesn’t help, feel free to send me your project. I’d be happy to take a look.
    Send files to: matt@zaxwerks.com

    Thanks.

Hi, I am using the composition camera.
Project is just 5 planes, set in AE as a 3D room.
I am trying to place the drums in the center of the “floor” but seem not do be able to do so.
