problems with Flip4mac
Posted by Rainer Wirth on May 27, 2008 at 2:52 pmHi guys,
I’ve got problems with Flip4mac. FCP6.0.3, newest Leopard Mac 2.0 double Processor PPC clean install, everything fine but the Flip4mac produces always 8% of the file and then it seems to work, but it doesn’t make any work progress.
Any comments?thanks
Rainer

May 27, 2008 at 3:07 pmThe only thing I can think of is that you may be using the “trial version” of flip4mac. This I think sets a limit of 15 seconds (could be wrong on length).
But I am running the same OS and FCP version on a xeon 8core with no troubles. Matter of fact, it works GREAT! I only use it for approval and review, but do not have any problems.
If you have paid for it, and aren’t using the trial, I can only suggest the usual suspects, repair permissions, re-install OS & FCP & F4M (clean install). I know several people using f4m and what you are experiencing is not the norm.
stupid computers!

May 27, 2008 at 3:21 pmI’m not using the trialversion, because it shows my serial number. I tried deactivate and activate serial number. Thanks

May 27, 2008 at 4:06 pmFlip 4 Mac doesn’t like open areas in a sequence. In other words if you have a clip, then a space, then another clip it doesn’t like that space unless there’s a slug there. I had this problem recently.

May 27, 2008 at 4:59 pmGo to you system prefs. and look in the “Other” category. Click on the Flip for Mac icon, click the Upgrade tab and see if you serial number for the upgrade shows up. I had this problem after an OS update.
