I posted the other day with problems digitizing HDV footage into FCP5. I figured that out, but now I’m stuck not able to export the footage back to an HDV tape. I am using a Sony HVR-M10U. The footage is 1080 50i (PAL obviously). Under “info” it’s Integer (Big Endian). I’m trying to export via firewire. Since all this stupid deck has is S-video and RCA video in, inputting that way is out of the question anyway. My FCP error is either it won’t detect the deck at all, or it will say “Cannot open output device due to either conflicting sound device or the item being in use.” Any tips?

Ok, I can get an output in 720×576, and I can get HDV 1440×1080 25 fps to show up on the video playback list, but it’s grayed out. I can get the image to display on the deck’s LCD monitor, but of course it squeezes it to 720×576.

Output to the camcorder, not that deck whatever it is.
