problems with DPX-Sequence in FInal Cut
Posted by Larissa Goerner on May 19, 2008 at 11:38 amHello there,
i want to import dpx sequences into fcp 6.0.
But it shows only grey or weird colored lines.
The sequences are 4:2:2 YUV 10 Bit 720p/50 that have been encoded by a clipster. I have glue tools licensed and installed.
Even quicktime doen’t show it.
what can i do?thanks for help.

have you checked that the DPX files are playable? do they open in Photoshop?
what happens with GT? ( and which version the new 3.0 version needs 6.02 to run correctly)
it is odd that Clipster does 720 files – are you sure????
Most of the off-camera devices do not record faster than 30p

May 19, 2008 at 2:43 pmhi,
i have a GT 2.5.11. We converted 1080i to 720p/50 with an Alchimist and then built the DPX files in the Clipster. I did the update to 6.02 in Final cut but there is no change.
any ideas?Settings are:
GT:DPX-InputConversion: Auto Detect
Aspect Ratio: None
Alpha Ignore
DPX-Output: 10-bit Standard LOG-LIN
Frame digit Pad: 4;
No changes else,FC:
Sequence: HDTV 720p
Pixel: Square (i hope i translate it the right way, as german version)
Quicktime video: 10-bit Uncompressed 422i have it in the bin and did double-click -> nothing happend
i put it in the timeline and rendered.
results are the same.:-(((

My guess is something is wrong with the DPX files- I have never seen a clipster do 1280 x 720 frames.
what do the files look like in Photoshop?

“I was very specific
I asked how they looked in PHOTOSHOP- graphic converter allows for non standardized DPX and Targa files- Photoshop will not open anything but a legal DPX file.
