  • Problems with CS3/CS5 and Win7-64… are there special settings?

I just built a new Win7 64 bit system for photo editing and installed both CS3 & CS5 on it but I’m having a host of problems.

When im running CS3 and I plug a USB hard drive in its totally stops the processes in PS. The hard drives I plug in take forever to be recognized (but that may be a drive problem, though they work in my older XP system). Bridge keeps say “Bridge has encountered a problem and needs to close”… at least 4 times yesterday. And when i got to batch sharpen a whole wedding, sometime in the midst of it, PS gives me the “(not responding)” message and i cant finish the job.

Are there any sort of special settings I need to set in Windows 7 to run PS?

    Win 7 Home-64
MSI X58 Pro-E LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard
Kingston Triple channel (2GBx3) PC3-10600 (MB approved)
    Intel i7-930 2.8GHz processor
Western Digital Caviar Blue 320GB system drive
Western Digital Caviar Green 1.5TB data drive
Sapphire Radeon HD 5450 video card
    Cooler Master 650w power supply
    Samsung DVD/RW drive
    Various USB external Hard Drives…
