And yes, you can reverse telecine to 23.98. I’ve done it twice. Cinema Tools does this, as does FCP.

January 31, 2006 at 12:38 amThis is where you lose us, because 24P IS 23.98. There is straight 24fps, then 24P which is 23.98. I have used Cinema Tools to reverse telecine to 23.98…It is an option…
Look in the browser at the clip…scroll to the right until you see frame rate…what does it say?
