Problems with Colors when adding Sharpen
Hi.
I mainly shoot stuff on my Canon 7D with some old 70’s Nikon primes and a Samyang 14mm.
I’m trying out the new possibilities with RAW through Magic Lantern, but it is still not very optimized.
When working with the h.264-files (shot with CineStyle color profile) it usually requires a final touch with a Sharpening effect (directly through Premiere) before final render and export.
However, I have found out that when doing this, it does alter the color of the image slightly.
I use Resolve Lite for Grading. And any Sharpening added before exporting the XML to Resolve is pointless, since Resolve itself always looks at the original files. The only way I can think of is sharpening the finished edit, export it (to “burn in” the sharpening), import THIS into Resolve, and than export again.
Is there another way around it? I really do want to grade in Resolve.

Sharpening will always alter the perception of color, it’s adding contrast to the image.
Also… why not just sharpen in Resolve and simplify your workflow so you don’t have to bring the image back into Premiere?
