  Problems with Avid FX

  Has anyone noticed problems with any of the BCC Light filters?

  My project is in Xpress Pro 5.7 at 1080i 59.94. I have a Digital Juice background on track one, a green screen video on track two, and I am doing an animated text over the two via Avid FX, where I am applying the key.

  I’m using an Animated Text In via Avid FX (Throw Down, one of the zooms) and applying a BCC Light Filter on it (BCC Rays Textured). I preview the effect without any problems, and then apply the effect. When I render the effect in Avid, the second and third frame of the 1:18 effect has a black box in place of the animating text. It reminds me of the AVX 1.x errors that occurred in Boris. The weird thing is that on the next effect (I have done this to four “words” I am animating over the video) it doesn’t occur, and on the third one, it occurs again.

  The next problem is as follows:

  My deliverable for this client is SD. I am using the Mojo SDI to output the HD project by changing the project format via the dropdown tab. Another of the word effects plays cleanly on my Avid timeline, but drops out to black three times during playback of the effect via the Mojo. All effects are rendered. Exporting to QT from the HD format or the SD format shows this same glitch. Is this a upper/lower fields issue? What is happening where you see the problem via output but not at all on the Avid timeline?

  I could send you a RED file and let you use your own font and video background if anyone would like to look at this.
