Have been using the “MPEG-2 High Quality Encode” presets (aiff audio) in Compressor (vers 1.8 in FCP 4.1.1) but deleted it and now, using the “MPEG-2 Fast Encode” presets (also aiff audio) I cannot get Apac to compress the aiff. The error reads: “Encoding could not complete because of OS error of type – 37 occurred.”
    1. How to I get my MPEG-2 High Quality encoders back without completely uninstalling and reinstalling FCP?
    2. What is Apac OS error -37 and how do I work around (tried exporting audio as aiff quicktime.mov but that doesn’t do it either)

    Thanks in advance.

If you can upgrade to FCP 5 / Compressor 2, Apple did away with the A-Pack anad incorporated it directly into Compressor. It’s much more reliable.

One thing to certainly try with your system is to trash the preferences for Compressor and re-set everything back to factory default.
