    Hallo!

I have a little problem with squeeze 4.0.
I tried to make mpeg2 files from quicktime reference files, i have created them with avid xpress pro 4 – (quality dv-pal 4:2:0) – but the result sucks. While fast motions it looks like the priority of the fields had change. There

Lots of folks are giving up on Sorenson here and moving to Canopus ProCoder 2.x. I hear there is a lite version that is inexpensive on the Canopus site.

Many folks have been having field issues with Sorenson/Avid/ QT Ref files for some time. Since Sorenson 3.x I believe.

Don’t know if this still works but try this. In sorenson, even if the checkbox is not lit up, I believe the default is to do de-interlacing? As I recall, someone said you still need to manually set the checkbox to not de-interlace. Something like that anyway. This only works for me if I choose to manually export a QT Ref file and NOT use the Avid codec. Export a QT Ref and drag that into Sorenson 4.x, choose large DVD, etc.

Canopus, using the Mastering Quality settings gives me elementary streams of video and audio (seperate) and they drop nicely into Encore DVD 1.5.1.

    Good Luck.

    Thanks for you reply Sean,

As for the quality of my video’s I am satisfied, I think my problem now is just my computer, it doens’t seem to be stable to be able to encode such a large file. I’m going to make 2 seperate files and join them together with mpeg tools.

    thanks again,
    Jana
