  • Problems when adding music from finder to timeline

Posted by Morten Slemdal on February 5, 2015 at 8:04 am

When I drag Music from my finder to the timeline, my system starts to load an event inside my Library (another than that I`m working in). It just hangs my system, and I have to restart FCPX. It also happens sometimes when I add clips from an event With W.

    Experienced this? Whats wrong?

Try importing normally instead of dragging from Finder.

I`ve tried that as well, but somtimes FCPX just try to load another random event from the open Library. And that takes ages; so I just have to restart FCPX.

What file format are these music clips in?

…and what else is in the library?

Do you have any analysis happening?

If the library is already open, shouldn’t the event be open? I would drag the music to the keyword collection you wish it to reside in, then drag to the timeline. No confusion there.

    Yeah!
Strange Things here – I`ve tried to import track, and then add it to the timeline, and somtimes I have the same issues. I`ve also experience the problenm when I insert Pictures to the timeline (“W”).
But, I Guess this is a “local” prblem, hence you guys doesn`t experience the same issues.

It seems to happen more when I`ve just opened the program, so maybe the media isnt fully loaded when I do the procedure.
