  Problems translating roles with XtoCC

  Hey all. Long time lurker, first time poster.

  I’ve been having some issues translating a few FCPX Projects over to Audition using XtoCC, and I’m curious if anybody else has insight into what I might be doing wrong or if there’s a bug somewhere or something.

  I have 5 projects/timelines and I’ve exported fcpxmls for each one. Each project uses synchronized clips with attached audio. The attached audio has audio roles assigned to its channels (Lav 1, Lav 2). I’m using different synchronized clips in each project, but they’re all from the same batch of ingested footage. So everything was synced and labelled and logged using the same process. So there should not be any discrepancies between synchronized clips.

  The roles are there in all the timelines in FCPX. I can see them and edit them. But when I export xmls and open them up in XtoCC, I’m seeing the proper roles in only 2 of the 5 projects. In 3 of them, XtoCC is telling me it’s only seeing the “Dialogue-1” role. When I translate those “bad” xmls and open them up in Audition, all the audio is there in the right place, but the tracks aren’t labelled correctly with the proper roles.

  This obviously ins’t a huge problem, since I can still get my mix done. But it’s annoying to have to do that extra organizational work before I start mixing, and it’s annoying that it works sometimes and I don’t know why.

  Using XtoCC 1.2.14 and 1.2.16 on an iMac Pro and MacBook Pro, respectively. Same results across both machines and software versions.

  Anyway, any insights you guys might have would be appreciated!
