Problems Tracking Land to Get Outline Shape in AE?
I posted this in the BorisFX forum. Hopefully, it’s ok to crosspost here.
I’m using AE 2019 and Mocha Pro 2019.
I have a drone shot of a piece of land. I want to track an outline of the land and apply the shape data to a stroke in AE to show the borders. I attached 2 screenshots. The one in Mocha has straight lines. The mask from Mocha that is applied to AE has curves.
I’m not new to Mocha but I am new to Mocha 2019. Does anyone know what I’m doing wrong or why the shape data from Mocha in AE has curves?

You might try doing a 3D Camera Track on the footage, inserting a slightly oversized solid into the 3D scene to match the ground plane, and then drawing the mask on the solid to refine the borders. Since the trees are moving on a different plane than the ground, Mocha might be having trouble resolving the motion of the tracked area.

That’s peculiar.
Are you using X-Splines with corners there? What happens if you preview the matte in the plugin?
