  • Problems sending EDL to Speedgrade

Posted by Tyler Boyd on June 21, 2012 at 4:13 pm

I am trying to export an EDL in Premiere CS6 to then open up in Speedgrade, connect, grade, then reconnect footage back in Premiere. I export the EDL in Premiere but I am getting at error when I try and open it up in Speedgrade. A big red box shows up and tells me there is an error and it can’t continue. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a setting in the EDL export that I am missing? The error in Speedgrade says unsupported edit info.

The video timeline I am exporting to an EDL is just over a minute long.

    Any Ideas?

    Thanks a lot.

    Don’t know much about this….

    but…

are you using a support footage/codec type for speedgrade?

It doesn’t know all the compressed video codecs (yet)

What does the error message say? I usually get them if my default fps settings in the settings tab weren’t properly prepped to accept the EDL/Footage I’m about to drop in.

I am getting the same exact message. I saw a lot of people having problems with their EDL’s because they forgot to delete all of the effects off the tracks, but mine is clean and still giving me an error. Below is the error, its not exact because it will not let you screen grab or copy it.

Key not supported in edit 1
File: 001 AX KB (WHOLE BUNCH OF NUMBERS HERE)
    Line: 3

    Any suggestions?

I’m getting the error box trying to import EDL as well.

Any word on this? I can’t find any other forum or answers.

I was also getting this error. But I deleted all fx, including transition fx, set all audio tracks to none. Exported just 1 video track EDL and it worked. I think sg accepts just basic video EDL. unmark the boxes that asks for video and audio levels.

This doesn’t work indeed. If you have more than one track you won’t be able to use speedgrade. EDL export is not the way to go 🙁

ya best way is to consolidate the whole project, load clip by clip and do the color and render. long process. 🙁
