  • problems resizing portrait images to 720×480

Ok. I’m fairly new to Photoshop but I’ve used Final Cut Pro for years. Typically I don’t resize (gasp) and I just scale the image down but I’ve read Ken Stone’s tutorials and followed them to a T. I also read one on geniusDV.com. I’m doing everything correctly and most of my images that are shot landscape look fine. But some of my images are portrait style and others are square with no aspect ratio. My question is when I resize them they are sqeezed looking and when I import them to FCP they don’t change. I’ve done all the normal stuff like ‘uncheck proportions” and still it won’t work. I even changed the pixels from square to NTSC DV/D1 and that didn’t work. Any ideas for getting these types of photos looking correct in 720×480? Thanks.
