  • Problems rendering Lens Blur

I’m using AE 7’s Lens Blur effect on some 1920×1080 HD material and I can’t seem to render my scenes out. My computer keeps crashing or running out of memory even though I’m running on a 3.3 ghz Dual Xeon computer with 4 gb or RAM.

When I just try to preview a frame in Full res, my comp says I’m out of memory (even though I have nothing running in the background). Is Lens Blur that much of a resource hog? Any suggestions on how to render my scenes out?

lens blur is a hog. try rendering and purging every few frames (hit SHIFT when accessing the preferences menu and going to last screen – it’s called secret. purge every 3 frames or so.)

Oh wow, didn’t think of the secret menu.

I THINK it may have solved my problems. I’m rendering as we speak, guess we’ll find out in a few 🙂
