    Hi list,

I sm experiencing a problem reconnecting media in my FCP project. I lost my original captured media in a drive crash and am now trying to piece it together and could use some help. I am capturing material all my tapes again. I can even name them the same name. But I am recapturing tapes using capture now as I did originally and when I try to reconnect to ths media I get a different media lenght error. Presumably using capture now the media captured two differnt times are going to be diffent by a second or two. But will this prevent me from making the connection. All the timecodes are accurate within the media as I can track back to clips using TC but not the whole tape. Doing each clip manually will take ten times longer that reconnecting the media in one shot so I would be very happy if anyone knew of a fix for this situation.

    Many thank as always,

    Kevin

You’ll never be able to do this using ‘Capture Now’. This is what batch capturing is all about. Look it up in your FCP manual. If you logged your footage corectly, you should just be able to right click on a bunch of clips & select “Batch Capture” to re capture them.
